I went to Kyopo on Saturday and was extremely disappointed with the selection. Are there any decent bookstores in Daegu? Must I go to Seoul for E-V-E-R-Y-THING!?!

Withus:
On the street south of Sam Duk FIre Station. It's on the corner of the main intersection, second floor. I believe Ellis Academy is in the same building.
Sang Poon (sic):
Basement of Samsung Financial building, Where subway lines 1 and 2 meet.
Tommy English:
Across the street from Debec Plaza department store. 5th floor.
English House:
Across the street from Arianna Hotel / Arianna Brau / TBC... 3rd floor.
Kyobo will order books, BTW. Actually they all will. |

There's a couple good bookstores in Busan. I went over to the one near stop 213 on the subway line and was able to find a few books that I've wanted that I couldn't find in the Downtown bookstore in Daegu. The downtown bookstore in Daegu by the Railroad Station is crowded, and filled with the annoying sound of English News broadcasts coming off the record player.
Of course, if you want to find some really good used books, there are some good used book dealers in Gyeongju. |

Umm, I'm guessing you mean Kyobo. Anyway, there are other bookstores in Daegu and if you're looking for a books on teaching English, they're great but I've generally found their recreational reading selection to be dismal. 'Withus', the place above Elllis Academy on the corner of downtown used to have a semi-decent selection of fiction but no longer. I've pretty much given up on buying books in Daegu. The last actual book I bought was at that used bookstore just on the outskirt of Itaewon in Seoul. Nowadays, I just get eBooks and read them on my PDA. I'm sure if you've got an iPod, electronic dictionary, modern cell phone or something similar, you could do the same thing as long as you can get the books in a compatible format or convert them to one. |

Cheers. I'm going to Seoul for LNY, so I'll head up to Kyobo in Gwanghamun (sp). They have (at least had) a fairly decent selection. |
