There is a hakwon called Alliance Francaise near Seoul Station.

Better yet, hire one of the numerous ethnic Korean adoptees from France to teach you privately. Since Korea has quite a few French speakers but low demand for French lessons, you can easily find a teacher by posting a job ad on the job bulletin board of GOAL (Global Overseas Adoptee Link).

Yes, I've been also wanting to brush up on my French. I need to get into it soon. Any groups around town? Maybe drinkers with a French problem?!

I used to try to get people to go to French meetings some months back, but I stop trying, because there was a lack of real, meaningful interest. People said they were interested, but it wouldn't happen. I could do it again. I have studied French in university for several years and practiced it in Quebec, occasionally practice it on-line, and having a teaching certificate in French and social studies... I am not perfect, I could use some improvement, but I can handle myself in any French speaking place without a problem.

I am sure I could teach you some basic conversation without a problem. You would have to PM me if you are interested in meeting, but I only want to do that if it's really serious.

P.S. I once tutored a Bahraini girl in a few months, and she learned enough French through me to pass the high school exam, so she wouldn't have to read her last year of high school...Instead of paying a lot of money for a hagwon, just pay for my dinner or whatever... That's easier.

OP, if you don't mind me asking,

Are you thinking of teaching ESL in France or living in Quebec when you finish your contract in Korea? In Korea, it would be easier to find Japanese and Chinese speaking Koreans. Anyway, good luck with your French.

There are some good programmes, by the way, that one can order like the "Smart French" CD programme off amazon. I think that could help and also French Behind the Wheel. You can teach yourself a lot, in my opinion.
