I called the 393-1440 phone number that the Seoul Help Center has informed me and others about. I have spoken to one lady there who has good English skills(better than the male in my opinion). Anyway, she is aware of my problem and recently she informed me that I shouldn't go to the tax office with my Korean friend because I would probably be wasting my time. She stated that whomever I spoke to would only be giving me their own opinion. Then she told me to have my Korean friend call the Korean tax consultant office at 1588-0600.

My question is...Isn't she a tax consultant? If so, why is she referring me to another tax consultant?

The Lady told me that the only way to determine the outcome of my tax problem is to go to court. I am prepared to go to court, but I do not want to. I can ONLY be a worker/employee according to Immigration Law, but nobody seems to want to recognize that fact. I also filed a complaint at the pension office(Jamsil Headquarters), but they have yet to make a decision after 6-7 weeks. They haven't said "no," so what are they waiting for?

According to the lady at the tax office, the employer MUST file taxes for employees/workers. The Public School claims I'm not a worker/empoyee, so they will not file my taxes. And, "Liberal Incomers/Independent Contractors MUST file their own taxes in May of each tax year. But, I will NOT file taxes as a "Liberal Incomer/Independent Contractor," because that is not what I am. How can I settle with the Korean tax office?
