|

So I moved to a new apartment about a week ago. I called the internet people and ordered KT Megapass because I heard it was well, um, the best Korea has to offer.
A technician came over and set it up. It took him two hours because my LAN card apparently wasn't set up for DSL / Ethernet and he had to install a new one, as well as rewire the outlet by my computer. Once I got it up and running, it didn't seem to have any problems. I didn't get the highspeed because it is not available in my area, just the regular DSL service (which is fast enough).
Anyway, during the daytime the thing disconnects every twenty minutes or so. Its very annoying. During peak hours (now or the early evening) it disconnects every five minutes or so, and at night it disconnects every hour or two. Once it disconnects I usually have to wait a few minutes before I can reconnect again, which is a major pain when I play online games.
Does anyone know why this is, or better yet, how I can fix it?
I tried calling the English help line but it seems to be down thanks to the holiday. I called them on Sunday in regards to this problem and they just pinged my modem, told me it was fine and hung up on me.
Thanks. |

I had KT Megapass and discontinued after a week or so... At my location, Megapass was dial-up speed, literally. So much for "high speed" internet. I now have Hanaro and am much more pleased. |

After many frustrations with KT, we also changed (to LG Powercom). KT insisted that it was our LAN card that was causing the disconnects you're describing. Funny how that NEVER happens on our new LG Powercom connection. |

Wow. This is beyond suck. It was working all night when I was gaming, but then I settled down to watch a video online, (http://www.stage6.com/user/McTodd/video/1884127/To-Mars-By-A-Bomb a completely harmless documentary) and every time I loaded it the damn thing disconnected me. Like the second I click on the link my internet shuts off.
I thought it was kind of odd that every time I go to a certain website I get disconnected (probably because it exceeds a certain bandwidth or something). Anyway, KT Megapass is ridiculous so far.

Hm, I've had megapass for about a month now and haven't had too many problems. The internet flies on my laptop but it does disconnect me every 45 minutes or so on xbox live. |

7 years ago I had megasucks and switched to Hanaro, much much better. 100Mbps is a nice speed with torrents regularly coming down at 3Mb/s or faster. |

I called their English tech support and they're sending someone over tomorrow morning to take a look at it. I described the problem to them as it disconnecting everytime I tried to download something and they thought it was incredibly weird. Hopefully they'll be able to fix it. |
