I spent 4 nights in Amsterdam over the New Year celebration. Amsterdam is incredibly beautiful and there are lots of things to do. It was the most fun New Year I've had, even surpassing the 99-00 millenium party.

If you are interested in going to Amsterdam, I'd be happy to respond to your questions. I am definitely going back this summer.

Amsterdam is much, much more than drugs and sex. Tons of culture, museums, fun people, parks, etc.

I think it's great they respect people's personal freedom and choice to do non-dangerous drugs and have protected sex with prostitutes. It's not my cup of tea, but it's a great example of making things safe that will always exist in society.

It is a great city, it's the Pattaya of Europe but with added culture, cleaner, safer and all together more romantic.

It has a sleazy image but it's counter balanced by all the good things that go with it.

I was in Amsterdam last year for New Year's.

So this thread is bringing back a whole bunch of fantastic memories.

You walk through the heart of Amsterdam and you feel like you're in a museum. Just beautiful!

If I could ever find a way to make money there and live comfortably I would. It's my favorite city in the world.

My favorite coffee shop is Amnesia, not too far from the Ann Frank museum.

I was very suprised with how beautiful AMS was when I was there in July of '05.

Were you able to get a decent deal on travel to Amsterdam for New Years? I'd like to do New Year's in AMS next year if the prices aren't inflated to ridiculous levels for the holiday.

I flew to Amsterdam last year (end of December) for around 700,000 win.

They have special deals to Europe during that time of year.

I'm flying via there next Sunday to the UK.

KLM have good prices but their planes are shit.

Still only have ones screen on their 747's in cattle class.

They had one screen four years ago on their 747's

and in 1990 they had one screen in their 747''s

lazy dope smoking sods can't be bothered to make their planes more comfortable

May I ask where you found this deal? Was it a airfare and hotel vacation package, or just air?

Hey, I know I can research this kind of thing myself. I actually enjoy doing travel searches and trying to find deals on my own. However, since you are here and available to me I thought I'd ask. Smile
