So i am off to China in a week or so for 10 days and i know where to get my visa for China and all. Some people told me i might need a re entry visa.
Do i need one and if so where do i get this? in my local immi office? or is it the double entry visa listed below?
Thanks for any tips.

You need a Korean reentry permit, not a Chinese one.
You can get one stamped in your passport at your local immigration office (30000 won singly reentry, 50000 multiple) or you can get a single reentry at Incheon Airport before you check in.
If youre American & youre on your first visa & it shows a prominent "M" then youre already covered. If youre a Brit its free. |

Separate issues.
You need your visa to enter China. If you plan to enter china, leave and return to China you will need the double or multi entry visa.
You may also need a re-entry permit to get back into Korea.
As an American you MAY or may not have a multi-entry visa for Korea.
Look in your passport at your visa. If it is "M" you are fine to come and go during your first year here. If is has an "S" (single entry) under entries you need to get a re-entry permit. You can obtain this at the airport immigration office or at your local office.

thanks guys,
Yes i know i need China visa and maybe re entry. I called the immi today and they said you have to apply for re entry and it takes 2 weeks
Can i just get it at the airport on the departure day and if so is it just stamp your passport, pay and off you go? If this is the case then it seems the best option is to get it at the airport.
I am Irish btw so does this apply only to American citizens?
Thing is i went to other countries in Asia before for vacation and i never needed or was asked about a re entry permit when i came back. |

As an Irish citizen you will need to apply for a re-entry permit to return to Korea to keep your E2 valid. You can get it at the airport. You will need to show your ARC, passport and fill in an application and pay the fee (30k won).
