|
|
A bit of background: I'm a US citizen. I left Korea after working for three years. In 2007, I worked and was taxed for approximately two full months in Korea, went back to the US for a few months to take care of some business, and am now working and living in Hong Kong.
Now it's tax time. Well, not yet, but I like to get things handled early if I can.
Presuming my previous employer (with whom I am still in good standing with and connected to) files my taxes properly, any excess/refund should still be mine to receive, correct?
My primary question is this: Does the Korean tax bureau have a system designed to wire these funds to an overseas account? The pension system certainly does, as I received that with no problem within six weeks, wired to my US account. I closed my Korean bank account before leaving, so I wouldn't be able to have the funds deposited that way.
Anyone, particularly those dealing with the accounting/financial side of their companies, have any experience in this sort of situation?
Thanks in advance. |
