I know which model I want to buy and everything, but i'm curious as to whether it's worth me waiting until I can buy one duty-free..
Anyone ever compared prices before? Is there THAT much of a difference? |

The $ savings at the duty free shops on electronics is usually offset by the higher retail cost of the space you are getting it from ergo the savings are next to $0 and the selection at the airport is not very good either.
Buy it in town. |

i've been saying this for years ... duty free prices are lower without tax, but the markup effectively cancels out the savings ...
go to namdaemun, you'll get the best prices in ROK there.
check out my camera buying guide: http://www.davidsmeaton.com/?p=7
it's geared towards DSLRs, but the same rules apply for point and shoots ... and the shops in namdaemun usually sell both. |
