Do UK passport holders need to pay for a re-entry permit or do we get it free?

Immigration told me it was free and automatically gave me one when I appliedfor my ARC, I would have preferred it ifthey didn't as I saw it as a back up to cancel my visa if I ever had problems with my employer.

It is free for UK citizens BUT they must apply for it. Multi at your local office or single (MULTIPLE TIMES if necessary - as in each time you fly) at the airport.

It's free. Just go to immigration at the airport every time you're flying out, it's never taken me more than 30 minutes.

Just in case the day you fly, is the same day everyone else wants to leave then I saved myself some travelling stress by popping by Immi. to pick up the stamp.

Funny. I'm British and I had to pay for mine!

Also - when I left (having resigned and with no intention to return) I told the immigration person so and they simply kept my ARC and cancelled my Multi-entry permit.

Do not be surprised if they ask for money when you apply for one - even if your British. It wasn't much anyway.
