Me and my partner have been offered some locations to teach -

Gyuggi Province
Chungnam Province
Yeosu city

Can anyone advise which to go for? Any help is appreciated!

It depends. Do you want to be in an area with lots to do, or in a clean, secluded area. It doesn't get much more secluded than Yeosu. Gyunggido is around Seoul, and if you're looking for excitement that's the best option. Also, I'm assuming you mean Choongchungnam Province, which most likely means Daejeon, probably the most boring major city in Korea.

We want to experience a 'real' Korea, but obviously not get too bored. You recommend the Gyeonggi province? What does it have to offer? Also, do you think Yeosu is so secluded we would get bored?

Thanks!

As someone else asked in a very similar thread--GYEONGGIDO IS HUGE. You need to tell us the CITIES you are thinking of!

Also, WHAT do you want to do? Some people dig clubbing. Is that you? Others want to hike. Others want parks around. Others want Western restaurants.

We havent been given a specific town, only the provinces. I shall find out!

We were originally reccommended Daegu but couldnt get a place. Are any of these places similar? Wed like to go to a place with a good nightlife, a good range of things to do but not an overwhelming, westernised city.

Daegu sounds about right for that.

I would recommend Bundang, but if you're avoiding Westernized places then maybe not.

My second recommendation would be Suwon.

Are you from P.E.I.? If so, there are a lot of Colonel Gray grads down in Yeosu City - a picturesque town of about 500k.

Good luck, and take good care.

Thanks!

If you want to be close to Seoul, Gyeonggi-do is your best bet. The province surrounds Seoul, and you should be less than an hour away from central Seoul.

Yeosu is about as far from Seoul as you can get. 5 hours on a bus.
