Hi folks
I'm moving back to Korea this Saturday and will be living near Sindaebang and Sillim stations. What i would like to know is if there is any big supermarkets like Homeplus or E Mart near.
Also i am looking to buy a Korean style bed/matress as soon as i get back. Where is the best place to buy one of these and what price should i expect to pay?

Thanks.

I just moved to Sillim myself so I'm curious about the supermarket thing too. I've only seen regular shops so far (with their usual crazy prices). As for beds, the internet is best for those. A Korean friend can help with that, if you know any. Alternatively you can get quality bedding (for the floor) such as an Iibool for about 80,000 Won. That includes the floorpiece, blanket and pillow.

OK. I just did a quick search at Emart - there is one in Shindorim Station, 3 subway stops away. Exit #2.

Here's a map if you can read Korean:

With regards to bedding the internet is the way to go.

In the real world I bought a floor yo type thing for about 35000 won which was OK but not overly comfortable. And it was a narrow single.

From gmarket I bought a queen sized double bed for 69,000won. Delivery and set up was another 30,000won. Sheets blankets and pillows ran me about another 30,000 won. Much much better value than the yo.

HomePlus is one stop further at Mullae Station:

Exit 4 and you are connected to the shop.

Tzechuk, Hyeon Een, Pete JB, thank you for your advice. I have moved into the apartment and am getting settled.
Please forgive the lateness of my reply.
