I like playing games but I dont know alot about PC's..
is a cheap dual core pc with a semi decent graphics card enough for most games?
I like playing online 1st person shooters as well as HL2 style games.
I heard bioshock is good...
is a dual core upgrade (MB, ram and cpu) and graphics card available for under 700,000 ??
thanks for any help or feedback..
If its answered elsewhere please point me in the right direction.... thanks |

Yongsan is a pretty good place to go. Check prices on Danawa first. Get them to build it for you, it's only 20,000 extra.
If you want to price out a decent system, go to www.sharkyextreme.com and have a look at the entry level system. It will do for most purposes these days.
In general:
RAM: 2GB+ matched pairs for dual channel.
VGA: spend more on this than the CPU if you want to play games. Try to get a Nvidia 8800GT or a ATI 3850/3870. Otherwise the 8600GTS is ok for a lower end system.
CPU: You still don't need dual core for games. Still get one as it's the wave of the future and future software will make more use of it. Hard to get a single core anyway. An ATI 6000 or a mid range Core2 duo will do fine. The Core 2 is generally more powerful spend whatever you have left in your budget after getting a decent graphics card.
M/B can't offer any recommendations here but go for a name brand.
PSU: Make sure you pick one out. Go for more power than you need and a name brand. American if you can get it.
Monitor: Make sure that your video card can push decent framerates at it's native resolution in the games you plan to play.
If you don't want to spend a lot, and just want to game, then the best way is to stinge on everything but the video card. An unbalanced system, but the graphics is the bottleneck for most games out there. |

| Bioshock runs on surprisingly mediocre systems. I played it on my Inspiron laptop that I bought over a year ago, and it worked fine. |
