Hello all I'm new to the forums here. I've been living in Korea for 2 + months now and so far it has been a very taxing experience... Already been in the Hospital for 5 days and lost 10 - 15 pounds.

Reaching that 3 month point in Korea, as things become more familiar, I am looking to find some extra circular activities. I've always been big into indoor rock climbing. I know there are lots of places like that in Korea and I'm just wondering if anyone knows of a place like that in Daegu/Taegu.

I live in the Sangin-Dong area so the closer to that area the better! I heard there was a place around here but finding anything has been very difficult.

Also any other suggestions of things to do around here are welcome Wink

Thanks everyone!!!

Hey bro...sorry to hear about your bad luck. If I am not mistaken there is a place up on Apsan Highway, south side of the city. It is in your hood, Sang-in Dong. Its called 앞산공원 (Apsan Gong-Won). It is on the south side of the highway. I could be wrong and I am sorry if I am, but some friends went a few times and I am pretty sure that is where they went.

Let me know if I am right or wrong...don't want to keep spreading rumors.
PM me if you need more help.
All the best and hopefully things will turn around for you. Look at this way, its the new year and it seems you can only go up from here!
Cheers

You're in luck. I live by Daegok subway station and I found a decent nearby indoor rock climbing center in a new multi-facility sauna/bathhouse called 수목원 생활 온천 (Soomokwon Saenghwal Oncheon): http://www.lifespa.kr/page_info4.php. It's in Jincheon-dong which is also quite close to you (maybe 3 subway stops away?). The price is 80,000won/month (you can go the first time for free but there are no options for drop-in climbs) plus 5,000won for climbing shoes rental and 5,000won for a climbing harness rental. The the other facilities are open around the clock (I think) but the indoor climbing gym is only open MWF, 10:30-12:00, 19:30-21:00.

I did indoor climbing a handful of times back home and thought I'd give this a go but got turned off by the limited hours and required monthly membership as opposed to just paying a drop in fee. Anyways, I hope this helps! Let me know if you've got any more questions.

Thanks a lot for the help and kind words. I will definitely look into both places. I'll most likely check out the Apsan one first and then let you know if I found it or not.

80,000 Won a month seems kinda steep don't you think?? How is the indoor facility? Is it quite big? Is it quite busy? That sucks that it's not open on Saturday and Sunday as those would be the days that I would most likely be going... To bad no drop in too. hmmmm None the less I Will look into both of these. Any more ideas are welcome. Thanks a lot and I'll let you know my findings.

If you're into fake outdoor climbing, there's the Bull.

Check out koreaontherocks.com. VERY useful. (I'm a member there, too; same name.)

Yes. I am mostly into bouldering and I have checked out that website before it was quite helpful. Right now it seems to cold to be climbing outdoors also I don't have any experience with ballaeing (I have no idea how to spell it).

I'll check out the website in more depth for sure and thanks for the msg.
