I'm wondering if anyone knows of a hobby store in Seoul that sells model trains. I've got a brother back home in Canada who's really into trains, and I'd like to get him a KTX model train (HO or N Scale). I've looked in Lottemart, Homever, etc, but no luck. I also tried at the Yongsan Train Station but they really didn't have much of a souvenir shop (and I was so sure I'd luck out there too!). Thanks for any help!

There's a few hobby stores around, but I couldn't say if they have trains or not. There's one in COEX, and one close to Hanti Station.

Can you buy a TGV set and paint the KTX colors over it? It's pretty much a French train anyway. Very Happy

Sorry, man. I don't think they make them. Try other online train shops.

Ha! Not a bad idea matthew. But yeah, I'll check for a place online that might sell them. I didn't know it was a french train.

And happeningthang, thanks, will check out COEX and near Hanti Station.

The KTX is based on the Atlantique line trains, but in 20 car configuration.

I know of a well-stocked but small one in Bogwang-dong near Itaewon that sold import model sets.

Just take the buses that go through Itaewon but turn right where Burger King used to be. There is a slight incline before it goes downhill, the shop is on the left on the slight incline before it the decline into Bogwang-dong.

Also, there is a really cool model shop at Yongsan Station, on the same floor as the ticket area for the movie theater there.

And there is another one I know about in Anjeong ni near the army base in Pyeongtaek.

There are alot of model shops in Korea, but it takes alot of looking around to find them.
