I prefer Miss Marple. She could take Hercule 2 out of 3. |

Poirot rocks bigly. But my two faves are Nero Wolfe and--king of 'em all--Sherlock Holmes. I suppose it's all very subjective but for me, Holmes reigns supreme.
In addition to the stories themselves, there is one particular concept that makes me like like Poirot, Holmes and Wolfe and dislike Miss Marple, Jessica Fletcher and their ilk: usually, people come to the former group to ask them investigate a situation, whereas the latter group are accursed harbingers of death--wherever they go, someone dies!
Man, if I heard Jessica Fletcher was coming to town, I'd flee. |

Agreed. And she could do it while she's doing her knitting. |

ahaha!
Too true, being linked with many of those detectives is like a death sentence. I rather liked Nero Wolf as well, he was kind of a jerk but then so many of them are. Any one enjoy PD James??? |
