Does anyone here know anything about WILS language school? The website is www.wils.co.kr. If anyone has any experience of working there please pm me. The website looks ok but the part about refunding your airfare after you arrive gives me pause since that's supposed to be an indicator of dodginess.
Any help appreciated...

I disagree with this. I don't think refunding your airfare as opposed to upfront is an indicator of dodginess. Hakwons (etc) here in Korea are not required by law to provide airfare in the first place. I've paid my own way here before and I'd do it again. I feel much more comfortable having paid in advance for my own return ticket so I know that I can leave anytime if I need to.
My former director used to own a few language schools and he changed one of them into WILS so my roommates worked there. Her problem was with the Director rather than the WILS system. Find out which specific school you're going to be working at because your day to day work environment is going to be determined much more by who you're working for than which franchise you're working at. |

About the airfare, it is ok because plane tickets are cheaper if purchased in North America.
I don't know any teachers there, but one of my friends was a student. I met her teacher and he seemed satisfied and was doing well. |

Thanks: that's reassuring. Did you buy a one year return ticket? Or do you get a 3 month or whatever return ticket and change the date later? Online places mostly won't let you buy one year returns.
