The kids in Seoul play around on skateboards, but I haven't seen anything serious. I don't think that I have even seen them really using them to get anywhere, just playing in the neighborhood. I've seen one foreigner on a skateboard downtown. In my area of Seoul though, the sidewalks are so uneven that it's hard enough to walk anywhere, much less skateboard. The streets?? Not in Seoul. I haven't priced bikes, but don't think that they are overly expensive. Many of my friends have purchased bikes, and I have actually seen many people riding bikes places. It might be a better choice. Good luck! |

My kids all talk about "kick boards" which I think might be razors but I never see any actually use them. The sidewalks are very crowded and you might find it hard to make way. And having to ollie and kickturn around ajummas, motorcycles, kids on bikes, food stands... you might find you're not saving a great deal of time. |

From what I've been told, and ajumma is a married woman. Most of the time foreigners generalize that middle aged women who are acting a little annoying are ajummas. |

how long do we want to give this thread until some dong vacuumer starts spouting flak about how someone past age 10 shouldn't be on a skateboard? |

And should never wear a backpack.
OP, I don't ride a skateboard well, but I've thought about carrying one in certain places. I think the long subway transfers would be nice on a board.
There are some skate parks here, too. |

It's not a western generalization. It's the Korean generalization. |

OP, why did you edit out your complete post?? Usually people do this when they have put their foot far into their mouth, or ass. You just asked a question about bringing a skateboard. What's the problem? |
