Who will you vote for? I think Obama, he's really cool. Hilarys a bit old and I cant be bothered with all you yanks saying it makes you so progressive having a woman president when its old news everywhere else.

Dunno though, I guess it doesnt matter as long as the next president isnt a Republican, if the Tories get back in in England Im never going home.

Let's make this relevant to the forum:

Who will benefit Korea more as President, Obama or Hillary?

Since Obama plays it straight more than Hillary and doesn't take money from big business, his appeal will be less than Hillary's to Lee MyungBak's government and Korean government in general.

Also, he's black, and a lot of Koreans don't understand that.

I'd vote John Edwards if I could get an absantee ballot here. This is only relevant to my state of course (the one that f'd up the 2000 election and where the governor was involved still during the 2004 one). I hope that we have some candidates that are worth voting for this time around, even if I am unable to.

I don't know; New labour seems to make the conservatives seem almost left-wing these days.

Well then Id say thats double for Obama. Maybe Koreans could get used to blacks with a black man ruling the world, it would (eventually) become accepted.
Also, Im so sick of corruption, people need to take a few years of having less to make a better world. Having less doesnt necessarilly make your life worse.

Obama all the way! Already cast my vote! Very Happy

I hope I'm wrong, but I have a feeling Hillary will get the nomination based on winning many of the big states on February 5th. Hillary wouldn't be the worst thing in the world as prez. Certainly better than what the republicans are offering. However, she's polarizing as heck and will have the republicans frothing at the mouth to campaign against her. To many repubs she is the devil incarnate and it will be a loooong year of Hillary bashing if she is the democratic nominee. And if she wins the White House I guarantee they'll come up with a reason to start impeachment hearings as soon as she is sworn in! Laughing
In addition, if Hillary gets elected and serves two terms that would be THIRTY TWO YEARS of a Clinton or Bush occupying the presidency or vice presidency. Not good.

Ya and for a really scary though, when Hillary finally leaves office one of the Bush twins can take her place in the White house.

Yep, that one more reason I cast my vote as I did. Obama would completely change the image of America abroad, including Korea. Koreans and others would come to realize the U.S. isn't a country of sandy-blonde haired, blue eyed people.

Hillary.

These days it's impossible to not cause offence, so I might as well cause offence:

How can any self-respecting Western woman vote for man with a Muslim background?!?!

I love how nothing about a president's appearance, age or otherwise matters.....as long as he's a MAN. Rolling Eyes

It's the same in Australia. The deputy Prime Minister is a woman, and suddenly everybody who supports the opposition is accusing her of having male genitals. Rolling Eyes We've really come a long way, haven't we?
