Why do so many bus stations sell pornography? I'm just curious, as I've yet to see a Korean guy bust out 'sexy girls' or similar scintiliating titles on board the 6 hour specials from busan. But I'm just as glad, cause this being Korea, some guy would feel a need to snuff one out on the bus. Man I wouldn't need to see that.
-But why bus stations? |

the mores of this country aren't founded on prudish judeo-christian values where bitty old ladies preach sex as sin
a lot of people are heading home by bus so picking up some nighttime material is probably an occasional alternative to the barber poles and coffee shops |

I haven't even seen porn in Busan! well, I haven't been looking. All I can say is that if you are looking or porn or variations of it, go to Japan...
I can't find the picture of it... some people had been moving out of the apartment complex and I still had a few months. I was taking some of my crap out to the recycle area when i saw a ton of magazines. the top of each stack was a tech mag and I thought I would practice my Japanese... I take a stack to my room, remove the top magazine and find nothing but porn... that's about 40 magazines per pile, 10 piles... presumably from one room... I quickly removed those from my room... but hell, every place that sells magazines sells porn over there, and it seems like it's 1/3 of the selection...
I know a little off topic, but I cannot imagine that the amount of porn in Korea is anything compared to that in Japan... |

Ha ha ha! Oh yeah, this country is so sexually progressive. Not prudish AT ALL. |

Yeah. It's a 3 blind men feeling an elephant. Canadian TV has nudity but you can't buy a video of a woman having sex with a pig. The USA has no nudity on broadcast TV but anything goes on the video store shelves.
Really, it all depends where you look. End of the day, Koreans can still go to jail for adultery. And Korean courts are more than likely to send a woman to jail for cheating on her husband.
I see no sexual liberalism here. I just see a lot of sneaking around. |

many folks don't want to buy porn at the corner shop from their home. they want a bit of privacy. oftentimes, it is easier to be bad where the odds of someone recognizing you are greatly reduced. people do stuff in bangkok they would never do at home. anonymity is their pal. not many places more anonymous/transient than a mass transit station. |
