I imagine it's going to be a pain in the @ss.

any experiences?

are there any companies outside of seoul? like, say, gwangju?

i have int'l drivers license.

If you deal with an international company, like Hertz, the process is the same as anywhere else.

2 weeks ago I did rent a small car(hyundai i30 diesel) for 4days 4hours in Seoul.
It was 212,000won incl insurance and navigation . They need your credit card, IDL and passport. It was pretty good experience.
