Is it possible to make a guitar out of pape-mache?

Would need to make the neck out of wood but think the body would be ok out of paper-mache wouldn't it?

The neck would have to be wood and at least the part of the body connecting it to the bridge. There's a lot of tension in those six strings. But yeah, buy the smallest guitar you can and just build a paper mache body around it.

Interesting idea. Try Korean hanji paper, as it's quite durable; I've seen tables made from it that a person could stand on. I have an arrow case (about a meter long) made from it and it is very tough--I'll bet you could even make the neck with it.
