Is any city "bad"?

Really, ask yourself that question.

Well, if "bad" = "sucks", then yes, some cities are bad.

(OP: No, it doesn't suck)

One thing I liked about Suwon is that people there seemed to dress in brighter colours than people in Seoul. One thing I strongly disliked is that Suwon seemed to be particularly heavy on the Christianity.

Bu it su cks you mean it is all bad?

Well...I guess it could be.

I would suspect "boring" might be a more apt term to use when it comes to Suwon....but hey thats just me and I never lived there! Wink

Actually, it's true. Suwon is not just bad, but its ALL bad.

4 years ago, the Suwon city government set up sign posts at the city limits, saying "No good allowed. If you are good, turn back now. Good will be prosecuted.".

Well, things being Korea, things circumvented laws and good still had some low key presence in Suwon. As of 2006, there were still some alleys near Suwon Station where good congregated.

In 2007, Suwon govt issued a crackdown on good and purged the remnants out of town. Most good went to nearby Hwaseong. Hence, why you can see Hwaseong-ites complaining over their facial muscles hurting due to their excessive smiling. Lots of high-fiving there, too. It gets to be quite annoying, to say the least.

But, to answer the OP in a nutshell, yes, Suwon is all bad. Not even a square foot nor pyeong of good can be found.

Well, Suwon does have an exquisite international toilet culture....

and a toilet house!

but seriously, it's a huge city. It's got it's good and bad...just like any city with a million people or more.

Some of my best moments in Korea have been in Suwon....and some of my worst.
