My laptop blew up last night so I need a new one, nothing fancy, but want to be able to use it for watching DVD's, Skype, copying a few pics and general internet use. As long as I can also type a few word documents on it I will be happy.

Any ideas? I'm down on the South Coast so unless there are any really cheap places in Seoul that's not really an option. If anyone's selling one and willing to ship please let me know.

Just bumping this up, I have a friend in the same situation now!

(to the person who I have agreed to buy a laptop from, I am not backing out, that's not the reason for this post)

Get a Korean friend and buy from www.dell.co.kr

You can order English windows. Get the XP version, rather than the Vista one.

You can get a new 15" widescreen laptop with and AMD Sempron 3800+, a 120 gig HD, and 1 gig of Ram starting at 559,000 delivered to your home or school.

It will be plenty fast for all of your needs.

We just got the same model with the AMDx2 TL-56 in it, and the dell trulife screen. Unless you really like shiny screens, I'd advise you go with the basic screen (it's less anyway).
