|
|
someone from my company took me to open a second account with KB even tho i have an account already then they kept the bank card a book!! i went back to the bank latter and reported the card stolen as i couldn't get hold of them to ask for it back so i worried a bit.
anyway, they seem to think its common practice for a public school to pay the recruiting company by paying all the money through the employees account! now i cant see any reason that the law would make this common practice, but this is a pretty backwards country so maybe!
i think the school probably wants to put money trough my account so they can put it in their personal accounts... we all know thats common practice in korea! and im a little worried that they may want me to commit some kind of fraud without even knowing it. and seeing as how i get no benefit from it i have kept my new card. but i do need to get paid soon...
questions...
has this happened to anyone else??? (they didn't even explain it to me coz their so sure its really common that they thought i knew from my past jobs) ( i think they didn't bother explaining because this is korea! and they don't bother explaining anything)
does anyone work at an after school program at a public school and just gets paid in the normal way??? |

Basically, the fine folks at your place of employment are either taking in unreported income they don't want to pay taxes on or they have gone through bankruptcy in this country which most people know is the kiss of death, and they are using you to funnel their money. Nevertheless, it is breaking the law, and you are eventually going to be required to answer for large sums of money if they do something wrong and get caught. I would make a call to the labor board to see if they can ask questions of the employers to see why they would choose to use you to do their illegal activities. OR you can just sit by and let the chips falls where they fall. |

They're committing fraud and they're basically asking you to be the bagman. |

You are being used.
It's true that people have been doing this here for years. But it's only common practice among people breaking the law. These are people trying to circumvent laws and rules to meet their own needs. They are breaking the law, and they're using you to do it.
You want to be involved in that?
They'll tell you anything at this point to keep you from turning them in. If you get a bank card and update your bank book, you will see large sums of cash being put through in your name. |

You're the foreigner. If they get caught and you're the bagman, who do you think is the one going to jail? If you think you're screwed now, wait til you meet your cellmate and he meats you. |

Not a bad time to pull a Friday midnight runner if he feels screwed anyway. |

you are right...
i would rather be screwed financially than physically!! best stay out of jail!!
i did think about waiting till they put money in the account and then doing a runner with it... but that would probably get me back to the physical screwing |

Dang I hate when I've just about completed a detailed post and accidentally hit the back button on my mouse causing me to lose the whole thing. Bummer. At least, it doesn't happen very often.
I'm going out to buy a snack now, but I'll do it again -- write the post, that is, not hit the 'back' button -- in a few minutes when I get back. This potentially a very hazardous situation and you need to figure out the safest plan of action asap. |
