With the new rules, can you estimate how long it will take from initial application to starting work here? I dont think my school has enough time to sort this out. Is the visa-run still feasible? |

The information I have is 4 weeks. I'll be more precise when it is all said and done. |

To the best of my knowledge with the new laws the visa run is not an option any longer. I live in the U.S. so the following may, or may not be applicable to you. My background check a couple of days, the apostille took a week, then I had to mail my documents to korea which took 4 days. Then almost two weeks to get my visa number. Then another week to get the stamp in my passport. So right at a month for the whole process. |

Hi, that doesnt sound like long at all, just hassle. Did you have to have an interview at your embassy? Drug test? |

I think the 'drug test' is a self medical examine form we fill out. I believe you have to go and get checked by a doctor once you land in Korea. Between 30 and 90 days to do so. I'm not sure about all that, but I would like to get some clarity on the whole thing as well. |

Yep. Before coming, you just have to fill out that form, and then you have to go into a Korean hospital for the tests before you get your Alien Registration Card. The fun part is finding a place that will do it here |
