I've done my research and deciding on living somewhere can be quite a nerve racking experience. I've looked at tons and tons of posts describing the pros and cons about Gangnam, Anyang, and Bundang. I've narrowed down where I want to go between those 3 (I'm still looking for alternatives though). Basically, I have a job offer in Gangnam (SLP Seocho, yes I know the stories), one in Migeum, Bundang, and still trolling to find one Anyang.
Basically, I want a good area. That meaning (not in any particular order), nightlife (bars [a place to get a good pint], music, restaurants, etc), shopping, gyms, outdoors, great transportation, schools, and good people (foreigners and some girls). Also, where my Won will go the farthest, you know? Save some, spend some. Sounds idealistic, but trying to decide through these forums and google picture searches blows. I think I should trust my gut.
Central Seoul would be sweet, but the pollution and school might drive me nuts. Then again, Bundang and Anyang are quite close, but how's the transportation in each area? Comparable?
Where do you live or do you frequent these areas? Good stuff?
Believe me, I looked through a lot of the posts, some dating back a few years, but things change quickly and Korea is an ever evolving country. Some really honest, constructive answers/criticism would be greatly appreciated. I'm pretty lost with the whole decision factor. Thank you for the help! |

We have a new thread already between Bundang and Anyang. If you like nightlife and good people, Anyang is the winner over Bundang. Gangnam is certainly closer to the great areas in Seoul though, so you could consider that too, although it's basically like Bundang times 10. |

Have you given any thought to cities a little farther away from the ever-popular capital?
If you're interested, I highly recommend Jeonju. I'll explain why if you think it's worth your while. |
