I'd been stressing for a couple of weeks about what I needed to do to get my E-2 extension after re-signing with my uni. Immigration scheduled and cancelled two or three information sessions with my school related to the new regulations, so no direction there. Yesterday, I decided to go to The Suwon Immigration Office and ask about the process myself. I took my signed contract and uni documents with me just in case. Immigration took my papers and application form, asked no questions and gave me my new multi entry visa within a few minutes (minus cue time). No CRC or health certificate.

I'm not sure if the process is the same for those re-signing with Hakwons or the public schools. Someone else will have to report on that. I suspect implimentation of the new regs is being delayed untill the kinks are worked out. So if your contract is coming due, I'd suggest you get to immigration soon.

Sorry, Im not sure which thread this post should go in.

I'm also in the process of changing my E2 visa to a new employer... my question is when do we eventually have to get our police and health checks done? Before March 15th 2009?

Well, I'm going Tuesday and my boss has told me that I won't have to do anything but bring the necessary documents. I work at a hagwon so I'm pretty sure we're all in the clear with the extras until March 15th.

What will the process be after March 15 if re-signing with a public school?

Do you have to go home to get a medical AND do one when you return?
