Job details being equal, where would you choose to live? Thanks.

Bundang.

Better transport and recreation opportunities, more choice of food places.

Ya, after doing a bit of research, I'm leaning towards bundang. Thanks for the input.

Bundang - newer, nicer, richer plenty of opportunity for lucrative privates.

I'll throw in for Anyang. Better nightlife, not as yuppieish, and the buildings aren't all new and grey.

I live in Anyang and work in Bundang. I commute because Anyang is far superior.

It's got a better scene, is cheaper, is home a bunch of cool people, and has accessible sports facilities (inline rink and basketball courts centered next to huge park; ice rink just down the block) and mountains.

Bundang has some cool (though expensive) cafes and is quite clean, but it seems sterile to me. It's colder and full of rich snobby people, everything closes early, and everything's more spread out.

Anyang = more fun and funky.
Bundang = clean, easy living.

I think Bundang is much better if you don't care for drinking. I've been pretty bored in Anyang because I don't drink and there doesn't seem to be much to do aside from drinking. At least Bundang has good restaurants, is clean, and seems to be a bit more comfortable and less crowded to me.

The area by Syeon (sp?) station in Bundang seems to have a semi-decent nightlife atmosphere if you're concerned about that. Its nothing like the Anyang station area, but it's enough.

All the foreigners I see around Anyang seem to be a lot more into drinking than I'd ever be.

I live in Bundang for the money and I'd have to agree with what's been said already - clean, comfortable, easy life in a pretty boring, sterile environment. I'm supporting the in-laws, though, so $$$ triumphs all at this point. Have to say, though, that a lot of my students' moms have been much nicer than I thought they'd be and have done a lot to befriend my wife and I.

If we put aside drinking costs (I don't drink much), and assuming I'll make Costco runs and eat in for the most part, in what ways--and how severely--would Bundang be more expensive? Thanks for all the input.

The food is quite pricey in Bundang, as is rent and key money. Good places are harder to find, and you'll likely be living in a shoebox.

You should do what I do: live in Anyang, but work in Bundang. Seohyeon station is just 15 minutes away from Beomgye/Pyeongchon on the 333 express bus.

I'm not much of a heavy drinker myself, and I can vouch for the abundance of fun things to do in Anyang besides barhopping.
