My fucking university promised to pay for my plane ticket over two weeks ago, and I STILL haven't got the money. I was told I'll get it today or tomorrow, but of course it probably won't show up.

I don't think the problem is that they don't have the money, but that they need to push papers back and forth and all of the office drones need to keep themselves busy. The inefficiency of this country is comical, except when it involves money that should be mine.

On top of that, my car battery is dead and I can't communicate with anyone to get a jump. Since I don't have any money to call a mechanic, I'm stuck without wheels.

Plus I'm stuck in the middle of fucking nowhere surrounded by people who don't speak English, and there aren't any good looking girls on campus. Not one.

Update: They've promised me that they'll pay it tomorrow or Friday. I asked about it two days ago, and they told me it'd get paid on Wednesday or Thursday. It hasn't shown up so far, so I went in and asked someone else when it would get paid. They called someone, then told me: next week.

Since this isn't what they promised, I called someone else who marginally speaks English and had her straighten it out. She called me back and said that she spoke to them and they would pay it tomorrow or Friday.

Welcome to Korea, where a promise is actually a misunderstanding.

If you had bothered to learn basic korean, you would have fewer problems.

Well, no one's on campus, so that's probably why.

But, ironically enough, I saw two in my apartment building after I made that post.

P.S. No offense, but please stop making youtube videos.

I have bothered to learn basic Korean, but I've been here for three weeks. I don't consider "why haven't you reimbursed me when you promised and when will you pay me?" to be all that basic.

It's internal red tape. Happens all the time in my university, especially with anything concerning money; you should get it in the end.

Seriously. You can't just say "Learn some arbitrary level of Korean in an unspecified time period and all will be well".
