This is a track of my buddies CD. They have won a few awards in Canada and they work hard. What do you think of the music.

It's not so much my style anymore, but it's decent. The singer's voice at times sounds a lot like the lead singer of Local H... and another band, but I can't place it... haven't listened to this genre in awhile |

For me, it was all over the map - but I'm somewhat drunk at the moment
Right off the bat I thought of 80's rock / new wave (Flock of Seagulls), then it moved into the 90's grunge zip-code for a while (wait a minute, was that The Cult I caught a whiff of?), then it moved right into that neighborhood of some dozen one-hit-wonder bands of recent years whose names I never bothered to learn (aside from Nickelback, but that was unavoidable...)
...but for all that, I kinda liked it, cheesy lyrics and all. Not that I'd want to hear it 5 times a day, though...
Which awards has your buddy's band won? Where are they from? Got any more samples? |

Sounds like one of those songs you'd hear every hour on the hour on a top 40 station from 10:30 am until about 6pm. After the first time you heard it you'd change the station because of the redundancy.
So, it's good enough to be bought and sold as a pop commodity, but not enough for me to enjoy thoroughly. Basically, they have the potential to get rich and have their music played for the i-Pod display in Wal-mart and Best Buy, but only by sacrificing their underground credibility. |

Nothing new, but well executed.
I wouldn't buy (or download) their album, but they'd be a fun night out. |
