|
|
I have just received my transcripts from my University, all nicely thrown together in one envelope and now have to start the process of getting sealed ones again. I had specifically asked for each transcript to be individually sealed with a stamp but somehow this wasn't understood. Is there something I've missed saying here?? Has anyone from SA had trouble with this, or know of some way of making sure they do it right this time?? |

Email an example of whats required.
Ask for a few sealed copies to be posted in a larger envelope.
I had never seen one until someone on here kindly emailed an example.
I will do likewise if you send me an pm with your email.
Cheers,
Ken |

Hi Ken
Thanks for the help, I can't pm just yet but I've put my email up, so please email me an example. I had asked for individually sealed copies in a large envelope, but obviously they didn't quite understand
An example will help a lot, thank you!! |

When I got my transcripts they were all in one envelope, but inside that one envelope were 5 other envelopes. I left it unopened for a month while I waited for the visa app. Then my boss was like 'I'll just open it.'
She got lucky. I would have killed her if she screwed it up. |

I got mine organised via email from the University of Pretoria. It was as simple as telling them what I needed, and they posted the documents to me. I arranged this from Cape Town, and it didn't cost a cent. However, I'm not sure if other universities work the same. Also, since you'll probably need multiple copies, either be VERY specific in your email about needing these separate, or request these on two separate occasions to avoid them dumping both in the same envelope.
Here's a copy of the email conversation I had with the Client Service Centre at Tukkies. Note how I repeated the requirements of a sealed copy:
Me: I am currently applying to teach in South Korea, and I have been asked to supply sealed copies of my university transcripts as part of my application. I completed a BA (Hons) in Political Science at UP in 2004.
Can you tell me what information you would need for this? Also, how much will it cost, and can it be posted to me? The South Korean immigration department is very specific about the requirement that the transcripts be properly sealed with a university stamp over the the seal to confirm that it has not been tampered with.
UP: Thank you for contacting the Client Service Centre.
We will be able to post / fax / e-mail your academic record, which indicates the subjects you have done with the symbols obtained for each subject. If this is what you need, please send us your postal details / fax number or e-mail address, as well as your student number and ID/Passport number to enable us to start processing your request.
Me: Yes, the academic record is what I am looking for. Could you please post this to me?
The South Korean immigration department is very specific about having the records in a sealed envelope with a university stamp over the seal, to prove that they have not been tampered with. Would it be possible to do this for my academic record?
