I had my fiance make one for me or I use her card. Funny how they watch me sign a female Korean name and don't ask me any questions.

I don't have verifiable income so I had to put money in a savings acct. at KEB to get my first. Then I did the same at Shinhan. But after paying on time the first month Shinhan gave me an unsecured one, 100 만 only tho.

I went into KEB and said, "I want a credit card". Walked out 10 minutes later with an account (picked the card up a week later).

They wanted me to leave a deposit, but then saw I worked at a uni, and they waived that requirement and bumped my credit limit.

I bought a new car from Hyundai, got an advance on "card points" to make the car cheaper and they gave me a card on the condition that I spend enough money to pay back the points they gave me in advance. Happily the points are paid back now.

I have a Samsung card. I can't remember their phone number but I found it on this website, probably in the FAQ. I called the number and spoke to a lady with a good command of English. "How much credit limit would you like" she says. Like wow?!? I get a choice? I think I asked for a W5,000,000 limit but could have gotten more. The card arrived the following week. Any purchases I make are debited directly to my regular bank account so I don't need to arrange payment myself. I work for a public school, which qualifies me for a Samsung card.

I have a Worri bank card. When I first applied for it I was working at a hakwon and I was required to put a a security deposit for it when I first applied. Now it is up to a 5 million won limit and no deposit.

I also have a Samsung card. No deposit.

I work at a public school and have been there for several years.

IF you work at a public school or are on staff at a University you can get them (unsecured credit cards) without much trouble.

If you work at a University language institute or hakwon you will not be able to get one without a security deposit. (It is your employer they don't trust - not you).

I finally got an unsecured card from Shinhan. It's the new Happy Point Card but its really from LG. First they said they couldn't give me the card. Then I went to the bank and asked if there were any other options? The teller I always use said He'd try something else ?? But they gave me the card a week later 100만 but good enough for me !! Atleast it's not secured Very Happy I'm not sure what he did but it worked. I do have 3000만 in their bank though.
