I'm not prposing it's a culinary triumph in any sense of the word . But that stuff gets annoyingly addictive ...

I thought that too.
Being served mushy, old kimchi really helps to alleviate the shakes.
Having said that, I always still look forward to it.

I like the taste, but I hate turnip, and cabbage is usually served tender...
