Geez. I'm watching Arirang. The portion where they give their show over to corporate videos. There's some segment about a food company that markets a line of onion products. The video shows a picture of the pyramids.
"Egyptian slaves could move 3 ton stones because they were fed onions!"
You mean it wasn't the whipping?
And I need to point out they weren't being fed KOREAN onions. I noticed Koreans eating Korean onions have failed to build any ancient wonders. |

C'mon, MM2. You weren't there during the construction of the pyramids.
For all we know, it was space lizards all hopped up on onions that made them.
That applies to the Korean statement, as well. |

actually the revisionist view of the builders of the pyramids is that they were regular employees, much like construction workers are today. engineers, specialists, an entire gamut of professionals and what we'd deem today blue collar workers
this is supported by more extensive excavations which have shown complete cities were built around the pyramids during their construction
the old "slaves built the pyramids" idea was mostly just conjured up by the west it seems perhaps to downplay the idea that something grand could be done w/o slavery? or by a civilization not western? or not christian? whatever.  |

Come, now. I'm willing to accuse the West of a lot of things, but I think this is a stretch. I'd say a much more plausible explanation for the slave theory would be that until recently, we didn't think it was physically possible to build something on that scale without some means of efficiently moving the large slabs of rock. We were under the impression that they were doing it by brute force, which would need slave labor to achieve.
Are you trying to tell me that slave labor has never been used to build monuments before? Ask the people who built the Great Wall if they had a lot of say in whether or not they were going to help in that little endeavor. |

and who, pray tell, are the "we" you are referring to?
am not sure why you think it's a "stretch" - a lot of Egyptian history has been intepreted - or misintepreted - thru western scholars over time -
thinking it "wasn't physically possible ..." only demeems the concept that the Egyptians could have organized, planned and implemented such construction on a grand scale and completed it - yet they did exactly that. not just them, but others did similar feats in s. america as well.
i don't know anything about how the great wall was built - so can't comment on that.
in the southern u.s., in older sections of larger cities you might notice a lot of ornamental black iron work - the oldest of it - not the reproductions - was done by slaves - tho they were not credited for it by most people because quite simply, most people don't know about it. |

I think the Bible has influenced us to view the Egyptians as slavemasters. |

| The onion as we know it, wasn't in the traditional Korean diet. the traditional korean diet had pa, then, in the great food exchange of cultures meeting, the youngpa came in. You young-nom-sskies should know this. |
