I just finished watching the complete Six Feet Under series and was seriously impressed. I have really enjoyed other HBO series like The Sopranos. Just wondering what HBO series, past or present, do you think is the best?

SFU was definitely my personal favorite, but as far as being the best...not sure.

'The Sopranos', 'Rome' and 'Taxicab Confessions' are up there somewhere.

I've seriously been impressed with Showtime...between 'Weeds' and 'Dexter' as well as FX...with 'The Riches' and 'Nip/Tuck' as of late.

Deadwood is a GREAT series! It's a shame it only lasted three seasons.

(It's a Showtime show, not HBO...)

Band of Brothers was the best esp since it was real.

Easily Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I missed this past season... if only my dumb ass could figure out how to download a torrent.

"Six Feet Under" from a writing perspective. Especially compared to the Sopranos, who never knew when to end it.

But "Rome" was equally impressive. "The Wire" isn't too bad.

Rome is amazing and Deadwood is pure poetry.

Both Rome and Deadwood were fantastic.

Sopranos started off good enough, but got way too boring towards the end... that and having to wait 18 months in between seasons got old fast.

I agree. I've started at Season 1 and now I'm just beginning Season 3. Right now, I'd say it ranks up there with the best I've seen. Of the cable shows, I'd put it behind Sopranos, The Shield and Dexter. But that's not a bad thing.
