Could do with some warmer weather stuff and some smart stuff to wear in the classroom. Korean Jeans seem hard to beat. What's the deal in Taipei?

Taipei is definitely better!
Check out the markets for shoes and the mall in the Taipei 101 building (great deals at Espirt and Mango). I've been to the mall twice and both times got great prices - 60% off the original prices.
In my opinion the style in Taipei is international and suits foreigners more than the stores in Korea. Better color selection too.
If you go to Taipei and you like dim sum make sure you check out Din Tai Fung - definitely dim sum heaven!! The only downside is the 30 minute wait for a table...there are long lines at all times of the day and night.

Kind out of the way, but Hong Kong is good, too.
