Just sold something to a guy through facebook and waiting for the transfer to go through into my account. When the money is in my account I will send the item off to him. Is it at all possible to reverse the transfer after it has already appeared in my account? I know in the UK there is a cheque scam and just want to cover my bases before I send the thing off. Better safe then sorry!

Cheers!

Come on guys. The money is in my account and will probably just send the laptop tomorrow but would like to put my mind at rest.

If they want to reverse it, they are going to have to do it PDQ - why don't you just go and withdraw the money tomorrow, then put it back in later?

Banks will not reverse wire transfers unless there is some kind of error involved (i.e. the money was sent to a wrong account). It's a very difficult process and doesn't happen overnight so you don't have to worry about the money disappearing from your account overnight. But I agree with the advice above, just withdraw the money.
