Fired once, had to sort of run/was evicted/they claimed I should sleep in the school once. I don't know if that's fired or running or what. |

0 for me
but...
I know a guy who has been teaching in hagwons here ten years and says he got fired each and every time and is about to finish his first ever full year contract, and maybe it's because it's the first time he's worked in the public schools. |

I really thought I'd written about this job enough. In fact, I thought you'd posted on that thread.
First hogwon: fired. (Same place fired my replacement at 11 months.)
Second hogwon: Owner didn't pay my rent. I got evicted from my apartment with no notice whatsoever. Owner never returned calls, never showed to labor board meetings, refused to sign a letter of release and told me through semi-maybe-but-not-really-still-haven't-gotten-a-real-story New Owner that I should live in the hogwon. Nobody would sign a letter of release, yet nobody would fire me. I got a job at a public school, canceled my visa myself at the airport on my way to Japan, came back the next day with a new visa and have been working at a public school ever since.
Owner had been found--in court--to owe everybody money, Prosecutor claims she'll be punished but she hasn't been yet. A few months after I got out, while I was at public school, Owner kept calling Labor Board meetings but never showing (cause in Sparkling Korea, they can do that without any repercussions). At one of those meetings I met another woman who'd also worked at the same place after me, who hadn't been paid. She told me that I had warned her not to work there. *I* never talked to her. So in the two months between my leaving and this meeting, someone else had also gotten royally screwed.
Heard from excoworker a few months ago that the school was finally closed.
Oh yeah, and on top of owing me money, the bitch has some of my furniture.
Since my second hogwon refused to fire me, and would not let me quit, but I really, truly had no other choice but to run, I'm not sure where that falls. |

Never.
I quit my first job here, and finished every contract since then. With the exception of that first job and my prior uni job, I've completed at least 3 years at every place I've worked. |

Never.
However, I was told I would not be renewed once because the school wanted someone younger who could 'play' with the students. They also wanted someone who would work evenings, something I'd suggested and they rejected because it didn't 'fit' their schedule.
About 2 weeks later they changed their minds, but I was so offended that I refused (I had been looking for a different job before contract negotiation time came around anyway). |

I taught two brothers for about 6 months and things were going well. One day the mother asked me if I was a Christian and I told her no. She was shocked. She phoned me the next day and said she no longer needed my services. |
