I know many of you are planning on voting for a Democratic Executive but don't forget about the other races. Specifically the Senate. The reason I say this is because I feel the dems will keep the house and gain the Executive. The Senate, however, is close and up for grabs. I highly urge everyone to vote for Republican Members of Congress. The reason is Charlie Rangel. He wishes to to raise taxes over 2.5 trillion dollars over the next ten years. That is a lot of money to suck out of the economy.

You can see his proposals here.

The Senate, more specifically, is 51-49 Democrat. However the the Republicans have a chance to take the Senate; no matter how small. While I don't think the Republicans will take back the House, Republicans have a chance at the Senate. My only request is that you take Messrs Rangel's proposals into consideration when you vote because I believe sucking 2.5 trillion dollars will kill our economy. While you may like Clinton or Obama for president, just don't forget about the Senate or the House. The Senate may be our only protection from this tax increase lagresse. In short, vote Please vote Republican in Congress no matter how you vote for President.

I would be against it, but for the fact that the GOP has been borrowing and cutting taxes in some kind of national fiscal suicide pact.

Here's a reason to vote Democrat: end the filibuster over health care.

Pluto,

The fact is the race for president may very well shape the other races. You are right, there are MANY other important races, but most people forget that what happens at the top of the ticket impacts other races. In Oregon we have Slick Gordo Smith who doesn't do anything unless it is lock stock in step with GW and Dick Cheney. His buddy and fellow Mormon is running for president and I'm sure Smith will endorse him.

If you are a Democrat, you have a lot to be worried about. An ugly knock down drag out fight for the presidency will mean less resources and time spent on Congressional races. All of the US House races are up for reelection this year and 1/3rd of the US Senate. In the Senate there are many very close races. The divisive campaign with you know who at the top of the ticket is going to knock down any chance of getting a larger margin in the US Senate.

Kuros, I respect you a lot. Though please understand the Senate candidate that I support is a Doctor who has practicing family medicine. Furthermore, I was with the 3rd ID on March 17, 2003. Yes, I helped invade Iraq. I got out of the Army in 2004 to teach English in Seoul but no matter. I wish every fighting man and women then best. As far as health care is concerned, I feel that Steve Sauerberg has got some of the best ideas. Please understand that these tax increases(offsets as dems call them) are harmful. I know a lot of you want a democrat executive but please consider the trade offs of Charlie Rengal's tax plan when you vote; it would be absolutely disastrous.

MD: I don't mean to disappoint you but I believe in less taxes, smaller government and a strong defense for our nation. I vote Republican more often than not.
