La Plancha in Itaewon. Good set menus and lunch specials. Not sure if they offer Paella though.

Gecko's Garden (the one on Restaurant Row behind the Hamilton Hotel, not the one across from the Coffee Bean) has paella. I've had it a few times. It's not much like what I ate in Spain but it's pretty decent, especially when accompanied by several of their frozen kiwi margaritas.

There is (or used to be; I haven't been back recently) a paella place in the Hyundai department store food court next to COEX. I never got around to trying it but I was pleasantly amazed to see it there.

The other places I know fall into the category of 'I could find them again but I couldn't possibly tell you how to get there,' unfortunately.

I do NOT like the Paella there. I am really picky since I was born and raised in Spain. The Paella was really good in "El Plato" in Hongdae, but the last time I went it was completely different, so I don't know if they changed owners or cooks or something.

Is El Plato the Mexican restaurant on the second floor of a building kind of near the Hongik main gate?

No El Plato is a Spanish (not Mexican) restaurant closer to Sangsu station by the Gr8 Hookah bar, up that alleyway.
