I've have here blood tests, including liver function tests from yearly physicals starting in 2003. In the first one, my liver function is in the middle of the normal range. The next year, it's at the high end of the normal range. Last year it was "slightly elevated". Today the doctor told me to cease all alcohol consumption immediately or I will die. Thanks Jinro.

What do you want? Pitty? Seriously you screwed your self every idiot knows that alcohol is bad for the body. There is no point in blaming the Soju company, the only person to blame for this problem is your own dumb ass.

Did you consume soju to excess?

Or did you drink as much alcohol as before you came here, but in the form of soju, that being why you blame the soju?

There are a lot of things that can cause liver damage.

And it is possible to rebuild the liver. The liver does this every day.

Stop drinking, and your liver will recover reasonably well.

However, if you have hepatitis, which you certainly can get here in Korea, then that's another matter. Hepatitis would explain experiencing more damage to the liver when combined with the same amount of drinking.

There is a way to repair the liver using natural supplements. But these are, of course, not readily available in Korea.

They are alpha lipoic acid, milk thistle seed, vitamin E, vitamin C, and B vitamin complex. More details can be found in "The Alpha Lipoic Acid Breakthrough," by Dr. Burt Berkson. Berkson uses lipoic acid intravenously, which is not generally available. If all else failed, you could see him in Las Cruces, New Mexico, for treatment.

Well, thanks for posting this. It should act as a remainder to all of us that the way we are drinking here in Korea could have severe consequences.

I am guilty of drinking way too much. However, its easy to fall into the trap thinking that if everyone does it then it must be okay

How much Spirits have you consumed in country?

God bless, and do not worry about it too much. Getting off of the sauce might rejuvenate your own Spirit (s).

I think milk thistle extract is supposed to be good for liver problems. Do a search on the web.

If you have cirrhosis of the liver from drinking, or any form of hepatitis, do not take Tylenol (acetaminophen) in more than absolutely minimum quantities.

Read the label, or if it is in Korean, review the dosage recommendations online. Too much Tylenol can cause permanent liver damage. And the limits are fairly low. Also, outdated Tylenol can do damage, too.

So, DO NOT TAKE TYLENOL FOR A HANGOVER.

Don't worry about it quite yet bro. Get in line for the liver transplant now; by the time you need it you'll already be first in line.

I'd bet a bundle, Asswipe-uh, that you've never been laid or even touched the CHEST-UH of the opposite sex.

Ahhh, yes, another provincial twit from the most isolated region of North America steps up to the plate with nothing constructive to type about the poster's dilemma.

Sorry, eh.

I bet that Jim and Mary are quite fine hicks and I'm sure that you know we really do wear Toques in Winter.

I'm also sher, eh, that you'll forgive me for being a knee-jerk anti-Whatever who ONLY studied I.D.S. and as many other Bird Courses I could find at St. Mary's...
