				| I know it begins on March 3rd, but I'm not certain about when the final day of classes is for spring semester. Does anyone on this forum know? |

Mid July. July 19, 2008 for most. The specific date can vary between schools. |

Thanks, ttom. My co-teacher said July 29th when I asked her today and I was unhappily surprised to hear that. Much shorter than the winter semester break for some. |

Funny you should ask. I ask my Koreans lots of questions so that I can be reasonably knowledgeable about these odd little things. The students come back for one week and have one week of classes except for the 3rd year students. I think they come back but don't go to any classes since they've graduated on to high school. Sometime that week, I think it is, there is a graduation ceremony for those 3rd years middle school students.

Then everyone (except the teachers, administrators, and staff; in other words, the students) goes on "Spring Break." Then they come back and start the new semester and school year on March 3rd.

Why do I know all of this? I ask my Koreans a lot of questions. What I don't know is if there is a special name for that one oddball week that they all come back. Graduation week, maybe? |
