|
|
I know Korea likes to snoop around in people's online business... which is fine with me, because the most illegal thing I do on the internet is downloading movies/music and nothing else.
But I'm just curious. Lately, everytime I check my Hotmail there are requests for password resets in my inbox (for my Hotmail account) and sometimes there are forms before I log in asking me if I approve the password reset application. I don't.
Why is this happening? |

Same thing happened to my mom about a year or more ago. She got notifications that someone had requested her password be changed but she ignored it and reset it herself.
I think someone, probably a hacker, is trying to gain access to your e-mail so they can use it for spamming. Just change the password, make the question even harder with a non-intelligible answer (so long as you remember it), and you should be ok.
I use the same combination of letters and numbers for every "what was your pet's name" password change question I see. That way, there's no way to actually guess the answer, unless you get lucky and happen to get the correct 10-digit response.

someone could be sniffing your packets( heh, sounds funny ) I had this problem too when I used my laptop at a cafe. I logged into my hosting site, and when I got home I received an email for password change which i never requested.
more info on packet sniffing:

does your school have wireless security like WEP or WPA? I recommend using WPA as it's a better security protocol.
