| I just arrived in Korea in last week. I have some friends a few hours away, but as of yet have not seen a single foreigner in Siheung where I live. Is there anyone close? |

Is that fairly close to Bundang? I thought I'd driven past it a few times.
I'd like to learn a little more about it. They're putting a subway station there as part of the New Bundang Line, but it won't be open for another few years.
Seemed pretty big, as it passed through the taxi window. |

| Actually, nm, it's nowhere near Bundang. I was thinking of 기흥. |

| I worked in Siheung-si, Jangok-dong at USA Kids school over a couple years ago. (The director still emails me to see if I'll come back...) I thought that the town and people were friendly enough, but the bus ride to Ansan (or Bucheon) to get the subways to Seoul was a hassle... |

| I'm moving there soon too, but are't there 2 Siheungs. One is Siheung(30 min from Seoul) , purple Seoul line, and other called SiNheung(hour away from Seoul)? That's what I was told. |

Dunno about Siheung city but i live in Daeyadong. I can get a taxi from Hongdae for W22,000. I go via Guro sometimes and it's usually around W10,000 to Guro so you do the math.
Hope this helps you.
Also to the other people in Daeyadong: get in touch cause there's nothing to do around here. |

A taxi from Siheung city to Hongdae would be at least 60.000 won (maybe 100,000 won...)
The most direct way I could get to Seoul was via 40 minute bus ride to Bucheon, then subway line 1; but I usually went out of my way and took a 20 - 30 minute bus to Ansan station then line number 4.
I usually had to stand on crowded buses, and some of the bus drivers seemed reckless and made lots of jolting stops - great for my disk problems ...
When a town or small city you live and work in is not conveniently located near a subway line or a good express bus terminal (or the KTX train) it can be a hassle to get to Seoul. |

| Yes, it can be frustrating here sometimes. I live in Daeyadong, and I have no idea where my other friends in Siheung live. We just know that we are 10 minutes apart from each other. But I think we all escape on the weekends to Seoul anyway. I wish I can find a map of this place. Of all the "dongs" here. Because there are 13 and one of my other friend is in Siheung but she's near Suwon, which is I know very far from me. So it's a bit strange that we're in the same city, but still so far from each other. |

| I live near the GS Mart in Daeyadong. If anyone lives near there and is up for a beer sometime, let me know. |
