There's been a lot of talk on the boards about side-stepping state level criminal checks by going to a state where you have no convictions and getting your criminal check there.

Does this work with a federal misdemeanor on my record?

I was convicted of a Class C Misdemeanor: trespassing onto a military reservation. No jail time.

It depends on the state. Every state operates their criminal records checks a bit differently...call and ask. Most police departments in your state would know the answer.
