All,
I am toying with the idea of a touch rugby weekend at some centrally located university pitch (soccer or rugby) for ex-pats.
Here are some of the concepts I envision:
Friday evening-Sunday afternoon
Tent set-ups as housing, or under the stars (and yellow dust) sleeping
huge quantities of food (I will bring two gallons of home-made chili and spaghetti sauce with meatballs)
Beer, real beer. No Korean beer allowed (just an idea)
4-6 teams for fun touch rugby to be selected at fest
Maybe a costume party for Saturday night, or a tie and whatever (kilts, mumus, sarongs, armor) formal feast
Did I mention beer?
Experience in touch rugby not necessary, so long as we have a few who know the rules
Women are welcome, and encouraged, and will be paid handsomely (in food, beer, jocularity and other things)
There will be beer too.
What I would need:
Someone who can find a pitch, perhaps a university instructor
A large number of respondants (at least 30)
A list of what people thing we would need
A division of that list
Ideas about where to rent tents and sleeping bags for those in need
Commitment from those who have... well, committed themselves

Remember, this is not going to be a highly competitive deal. It is about having fun and meeting ex-pats from all over the country here, who are from all over the world. People who don't want to play, but just want to hang out are welcome as well. We can even do other activities, but nothing brings people together like rugby... and beer. |
