|
I've gone to a few Jimjilbangs now, with varied results. One was very nice, but the one in my neighbourhood was kind of dirty in comparison.
My girl is coming to visit in a week and I'd like to take her to a really nice one, one night. Does anyone have any recommendations? Is there a Jimjilbang you know that is really beautiful, but affordable? |

There's one in Ansan that has lovely decor, waterfalls, and two outdoor whirlpools, including a woodsmoke pool, which is something I haven't seen before.
The massages are gentler than the typical Korean massage as well.
It''s small, but that actually helps as it's never too crowded.
And the waygooks don't seem to shock the locals either, which is nice.
I think it's around 6000 for the spa area.
I just know it as "The lovely jimjilbang in Ansan" but if you're interested I can try and get a proper name and directions. It might be a bit far to go if you're in Seoul though. |

Depends what you're looking for. There's some decent walking around the university area, and some nice bars. Nothing really not-to-be-missed though. |

The one in Yongsan is really nice... it has an outdoor pool, is five levels and fairly comfortable. Plus they are foreign friendly. I went to one in Seoul once where the staff kept following us around because I think we were the first waegooks to ever go to the place.
My recommendations are the Yongsan one and there is a nice one in Hongdae too, underground. Hard to find though. |

Dragon Hill Spa is nice. Thats the one next to Yongsan Station. About 10,000 won.
Its my favorite because it has nice facilities and lots of things to do, including outdoor heated pool.
Myeong Dong has one also... Hurest..
Hamilton hotel also has one.
I think there was another thread with lots info on this. In fact I think there is a sticky on Jim Jil Bangs. |

What about that mega-sized one near Olympic Park? Can anyone tell me the name of that place and which exit of Mongchontoseong station it's near? |

There are a few in Hongdae. I was at one a year and a half ago. Big mistake going on a Saturday night. There was nowhere to stand or even walk. Too many people laying on the floor and even in the stairway. I had to crawl underneath a bench to get some rest for the night. I woke up and there was a man laying on the bench on top of me, with a gut full of methane. guess who was the unlucky victim?.....
Regardless, the staff there was super cool and the place was clean, but it probably wasn't the same one as the one you are talking about. |

My 2 favorites are Hi-lex Spa (Hwarangdae Station) and Dragon Hill Spa (Yongsan Station). |
