Okay, so given my threads about immigration laws, finding a lawyer, Koreans in Korea representing Canada at our "embassy", etc., everybody knows that my new job sucks and I'm not happy. But my girlfriend recently received an e-mail from a friend of hers who had been planning on coming here, but read in our 'other' national newspaper how bad it was, so she's rethinking it. I also came across this article about a boss possibly framing a teacher to get out of paying his bonus (which is something I seriously think more directors would do if they thought of it).
So my question is, is it just my crappy outlook lately making everything seem worse, or is the EFL industry in this country really going downhill fast? It seems like the economy is making even the honest ones do things they justify by saying they can't help it. Any opinions? |

Its the same as it ever was...with the possibility of getting worse because there are now more available teachers than jobs, so employers can do as they like.
it takes a lot out of a person to survive the game out here. Those of us that do, do so because we've found our own little ways of coping and playing the game. But it takes time to do so. |

I'd have to say it's a bit of both. |
