I never understood why the Oscars were such a big deal. A bunch of self righteous actors/writers/directors etc. get together and vote who they think is the best among themselves...so in essence they give themselves a pat on the back. The studios spend big bucks to promote their film...so propaganda gets involved in the decision making process. Also they waste soooo much time in getting to what people want to see. Like give me a break, 3+ hours to dish out some awards? I could be done in less than 1hr if they took all the crap out of the show.
I'll never watch another Oscar awards show...
The only thing I love about the Oscars is that they give DVD screeners to members to view and most times those screeners get pirated, so I can watch a dvd quality movie months before it is out on dvd. |
