The director of box office hit " Juno " is a Canadian Jason Reitman and he has an Asian wife whose name is Michele Lee.
Anybody know her nationality ?
I know Canadian director Alexander payne's wife was a Korean-Canadian, Sandra Oh. |

I saw it yesterday.
I thought it was pretty good. I wasn't a mind blower but not bad.
Interesting music at least. |

| The budget of the movie was $ 7.5 million, but the gross revenue is more than $ 100 million already and keep going. |

| Does this mean that Canadian banks/cell phone companies/ every other company imaginable is going to be pasting the guy's face all over the place? Hmmm, maybe only in Korea. |

I hope you are not trying to just point out he has a Korean wife (as any person could look that up on the internet!). No one cares, why does anyone care if someone famous is from their country (or more pathetic, someone somewhat famous's wife is from their country)? It's sad. This phenomenon isn't limited to Korea for sure, but it's the worst I have ever seen in Korea. |

Not really,
I just saw her picture with Jason Reitman on USA Today, so my curiousity made me to check about her on the internet, she is a writer and she met Jason when she was 23 years old ( He was 18 years old high school student ).
He left his parent to move in with her at that age. Well, their personal story is interesting enough, so I tried to find out her nationality, but it just say she is a Canadian. well, Asian can't be REAL Canadian, isn't ???

Guess what, this guy is Canadian too:
| Quote: |
CANADIAN AID WORKER FREED BY NORTH KOREA
BEIJINGHumanitarian worker Je Yell Kim of Edmonton, who was detained for nearly three months by North Korea, is finally free and will soon return to Canada, a Canadian embassy official said here last night.
Kim, who had been held by the North Koreans since Nov. 3, was released and left the country Saturday following last week's Canadian diplomatic mission to the North Korean capital of Pyongyang by Ted Lipman, Canada's ambassador to South Korea. |

The film has a similar plot to the Korean film Jenny, Juno. And the guys wife is possibly Korean. Hmm.
That can't be a coincidence. If the film is a quasi-remake, I can dig it. But if not...
Anyway, I haven't seen either film. I'm sure they're vastly different, apart from the teen pregnancy theme. Probably so much so that any claim of plagiarism wouldn't fly. Still, some credit should go to the original, even if it is -- as I've heard -- pretty terrible. |

| Jason displayed an independent streak early on. At 16, while still in high school, he mortified his parents by leaving home to live with a 23-year-old girlfriend. "That was a bit of a bump in the road," his father recalled last week in a phone interview. "It was certainly tough on my wife and I, but it turned out well. Jason was always fairly mature and it sort of aided in his maturation."(The romance lasted seven years; Jason has since married a Canadian, Michelle Lee, who's only five years his senior.) |
Now hey, I don't know where this broad comes from, but waving around the flimsy evidence that some asian chick with one of the most common asian names on the planet somehow inspired this guy to plagiary is ridiculous at best. |

She's CANADIAN.
Aside from that, Jenny, Juno and Juno have no similarities really.
Middle School kids vs. High School kids
Romantic story vs. Comedy
Keep the baby vs. Adoption
Angry parents vs. funny parents
boring vs. funny |

How many people do you know named Juno?
Anyway, the script was written by Diablo Cody. If anyone is guilty of plagiarism, it's her, although she denies it thusly:
| Quote: |
| Unbeknownst to me, we had another spiritual cousin out there, a Korean movie called "Jenny, Juno", This time, the cousinry goes one step further and the movie is about--seriously--a pregnant teenager and her cute, sweet boyfriend. (The guy character is named Juno, not the girl.) There's no adoption subplot and apparently the film is otherwise dissimilar to mine, but how fucked up is that? I bring this up because a journalist drilled me about it recently--awkward!--and also because I saw someone on our IMDb board wondering if Juno was a remake of the K-flick. So for the record, 1.) it isn't a remake 2.) I haven't seen 'Jenny, Juno,' though I want to now, and 3.) I don't think anyone would even bat an eye about this if my film was called Jenny. The name Juno is just so darned distinctive that confusion is inevitable. |
Her lawyers are smart.
Again, anyone know someone named Juno?
Synchronicity. Nice alibi. |
